Exactly four and a half months following the previous coach's initial media briefing as Rangers manager, successor the German coach faced the media at Ibrox for the first time.

The scale of the task facing him is well known, given Martin's turbulent and disappointing 123-day spell.

The ex- Wednesday boss was accompanied by club chairman the chairman, along with the frequently questioned pair of football director Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

But what precisely was revealed from the young coach's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

The Manager's Main Priority - Victory Comes First

One thing emerged loud and clear from Rohl's first appearance in front of the local press - he recognizes the need to win matches, and do so rapidly.

His predecessor Russell Martin lasted only 17 matches and 123 days as manager, so the inquiry emerged about how long Rohl believes is reasonable to turn around the underperforming squad.

While skillfully sidestepping a direct answer that might create later expectations, Rohl's message was quite clear.

"With hope very quickly," he stated. "This is essential.
"In this business you have not much opportunity. You can discuss future plans but we know it's about the short-term and that period involves securing victories. This is what I demand.
"Another aspect is also obvious - I need all players to understand how we want to perform. I come back to my main message: it's winning, it's attractive and unity. By following this sequence, I believe that I will remain very long here."

Pressure is Standard

The previous manager needed security protection to exit the stadium after his final match as manager.

We've witnessed how toxic environments can become at football clubs when results are poor. Protests have nearly become an expected part of game day experience on each part of the city these days.

As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the inquiry asked about what qualities the coach thinks he possesses that would allow him to cope, let alone excel, in among the highest-pressure positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion pressure in football are standard," he stated. "One needs to understand that rapidly.
"I believe some people could reference my youth but I have been 16 years in this career. I had an excellent opportunity to work with the German club and be only an assistant coach, but I experienced what it means to be a head coach and the pressure involved.
"When you start getting results and then certain people claim you need to produce entertaining football. That becomes the phase but that's exactly what I want. I enjoy those expectations and I look forward for the future."

Thelwell Defends Striker Acquisition & Appointing Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had numerous questions from the media for Thelwell.

Significant attention has concerned the hiring of Robbie Thelwell as head of recruitment, with supporters unconvinced about his qualifications for the role.

However, he defended and explained the decision to recruit his son to the club.

"It's always awkward to hear and in appearance I believe everyone understood when we took this step to appoint him that he would be viewed negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The truth of circumstances is that we want to bring the very best players here.
"My perspective on Robbie's career and background is he required no my assistance in football.
"He served at Villa as head scout, after which he joined Norwich City as head of scouting and then got promoted to player pathways manager.
"Prior to our recruited him, multiple Premier League teams wanted to sign him. What we did right at the start of proceedings was discuss with Patrick, the chairman and deputy chairman Marathe about this situation.
"I was highly open and I think Robbie probably experienced a more rigorous process than anybody else who's employed by this football club.
"I'm certain is that he'll labor 25/8 to be successful for this football club and I anticipate to him demonstrating that he'll become a valuable staff member for the club."

Thelwell also supported the acquisition of forward Youssef Chermiti, who arrived at the club for an alleged first payment of eight million pounds, having failed to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portuguese youth international to Liverpool from Sporting - again for significant money in a fifteen million pound transfer.

He was asked if he stands by his multi-million pound signing, who hasn't yet score in seven outings for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell responded. "I believe the striker is a player who's possesses great ability.
"I've never questioned him in any way. Again, I believe the manager will assist in get the best out of Youssef.
"These are initial stages for him, he's a promising prospect and naturally with young talents they occasionally require patience.
"But I'm certain over the course of his time at the club he'll demonstrate that he's a very, very good footballer."

The CEO Understands Supporters' Disappointment and Hurt

The chief executive was facing firing line, considering the criticism that has been aimed at him by certain of the club's own supporters.

Additionally, there was a banner in the stadium during the last tie with United suggesting Stewart - and Thelwell - to depart before they were packed for him.

Like his football director, the CEO did not avoid the topic.

"I totally understand the disappointment and anger that fans are feeling because performances this season haven't been good enough and no one is happy with them," he stated.
"The pain and disappointment fans experience is mirrored inside the leadership.
"Also understand that there has to be a channel for that dissatisfaction and in my role, that's me.
"I'm a lightning rod for those and my role as a
